Corn Snakes a Beginners Guide
If anyone was to ask me what was the best
snake to begin with I would
not hesitate to tell them that is is the corn snake. There are many snakes
that are OK for beginners but the corn is without a doubt the friendliest
and is hardy enough to withstand the odd mistake by a learner. They are
of a good size reaching around the four foot mark which is a very
comfortable size to get used to and the many colour variations make it
almost impossible to not find one that you don’t find beautiful. They are
so friendly and I can put my hand on my heart when I say, “i don’t know
of any corn snake biting anyone in captivity. They can cope with
temperature fluctuations far better than many other snakes. For anyone
who is thinking of getting a snake as a pet for the first time I am including

a few facts to help them make up their minds.
    1) SNAKES ARE EASY TO MAINTAIN
They don’t need exercise They only eat once or twice a week If you
remove their foesus regularly, you only need to clean the vivarium out
once a year If you spend time to set the vivarium out well they make a
display that will blow most aquariums out of the water (joke?)
If you only want a part time pet then what better than a snake, because
for three to four months a year you can turn off all heat and light and
stop feeding them. This will bring on a sort of hibernation called “brumation”.
